About Korats

Korats are a naturally occuring breed from Thailand, one of the oldest breeds in the world.  Korats have been documented since 1350.

Korats are called Si-Sawat in their home land and known as the good luck cat.

Korats were exported to the USA in 1959, gaining Championship status in 1966 in CFA.

Korats are distinct for their silver-blue coat. They are “the colour of rain clouds”. With a heart-shaped face and luminous green eyes.  Their green eyes can take up to 4 years to develop.

Their single coat is easy to care for with low shedding.

Korats are a small-medium size cat, which feels heavier than they look. Males typically weigh 4-5kg, females 3-5kg.

Korats are active, energetic affectionate, intelligent and bond closely with their families. They can be chatty.

About Us

Welcome to the enchanting world of Suranari Korats.
My name is Amanda, and I am an Australian Korat breeder based in Adelaide, South Australia. I am a dedicated breeder of these captivating silver-blue cats, registered with the Governing Council of the Cat Fancy SA (GCCFSA), the Feline Association of SA (FASA), Cats Australia, and the Dog and Cat Management Board of SA (DACO).

We have 20 years experience in showing and breeding Ocicats. You can find our Ocicats here – http://www.ocicats.com.au

Alongside breeding, I am deeply passionate about showing our Korats, our cats have proudly earned numerous titles and end-of-year awards. I believe that exhibiting is an essential part of any responsible breeding program, helping ensure our cats consistently meet and uphold the Korat standard.

Giving back to the hobby that has given me so much is important to me. I have served on committees and I have also managed many shows for both FASA and GCCFSA.

Our commitment to the Korat breed in Australia runs deep. Before beginning our breeding journey, we dedicated ourselves to learning the Korat standard, gaining extensive show experience, and developing a profound respect for this ancient and treasured breed.
We are devoted to preserving and strengthening the Korat in Australia by importing new, healthy bloodlines from reputable breeders worldwide, maintaining genetic diversity.

At Suranari Korats, every kitten is raised with purpose, passion, and a heartfelt dedication to the future of this rare and remarkable breed.

Our Korat kittens

Raising Our Korat Kittens
At Suranari Korats, all our kittens are raised indoors in a loving, family environment. They grow up underfoot, alongside our adult Korats and Ocicat cats, ensuring they are fully part of our home.

Socialisation & Daily Life
From an early age, our kittens are exposed to everyday household sounds and routines. This careful socialisation helps them become confident, easygoing companions who adapt readily to your life.
